PPPoE & PPPoA Broadband Residential Access Server (BRAS) – BMS 200/500/800
Fine Point Technologies’ ServPoET BMS 200, 500, and 800 models are the perfect solutions for any broadband service providers deploying a PPPoE or PPPoA based service. The ServPOET comes in a 1U appliance form factor, and is licensed for between 1,000 (BMS200) to a whopping 6,000 (BMS800)
simultaneous subscriber sessions.
ServPOET appliances can be clustered for load balancing and redundancy,
providing almost unlimited total capacity.
ServPOET supports Broadband Forum standards, including IPv6 support for PPPoE
sessions using the TR-179 specification.
Key Benefits include:
- Small Form Factor
Up to 6,000 simultaneous PPPoE or PPPoA subscriber sessions in 1U of rack space
- Easy upgrade
From 1,000 simultaneous PPPoX subscriber sessions to 6,000 in a single 1U form factor as well as for new releases of the ServPoET Network Operating System (NOS).
All BMS models support clustering for fault tolerance, and n+1 load balancing. Group multiple BMS in a central location for maximum resiliency.
- Decentralization and Routing
Or, locate the BMS closer to end users to reduce latency. OSPFv2 and OSPFv3 (IPv6) routing engine simplifies network architecture, permits better network utilization.
- Standard Infrastructure
Interfaces to standard radius authentication, authorization and accounting (AAA) systems
Includes standard SNMP and CLI interfaces familiar to operations personnel.
- Multiple Protocol Encapsulation Support
– PPPoE, PPPoEoA, PPPoA, L2TP and 802.1q encapsulation on subscriber side
– IPv4 and IPv6 in a single PPP session
– compatibility with wide range of home routers, including all OpenWRT based models
